Nice 1955 Proof set in Capital plastic with a 1953 toned dime!
Never noticed this before.......Moral of the story is to examine what you buy even if it is only
$7.50.

Oh, before you beat me up on the price I bought this set in the late 60's as I recall.

Can you still return the set for a refund?

Hmmmmmm I probably ought to see how old that dealer is now....should be about 110 or so I'd think!
I wonder if the shop is there......

Thats funny! Better than accidentally having a non silver '65 mistakenly thrown in there ...and what luck, that '53 looks pretty to boot!!
We made much better decisions fifty years ago than we do today. If only we have another fifty years to live, our mistakes will be considered Genius. Our children will never understand the family collection, but our grandchildren will get it.

Yes, exactly what I thought,,,,,3 is better than 5 in this case. It is pretty and I may just add it to the next submission as the set is not complete anymore (never was, 'eh?).

OINK, so hauling these around for the last 50 years might just be worth the trouble? LOL
My grand kids are not interested, nor are the kids, nor is the wife......I'm just a loner in this endeavor.

Your will need to offer your grandcnildren a career opportunity when you leave them a million in coins that they would liquify vety quickly for $200,000. Or they could sell them retail for $2,000,000.
Who says that an opportunity may be more significant, than is a personal grant.

My grand kids likely will not inherit my coins. Wife will and then she'll sell like hell! Hopefully at retail?

Very attractive Roosie.
What's the rev look like?
light russet rim toning with just a tad of cobalt blue over the "ONE"

It is amazing that you have had this set for around fifty years and just noticed that... Sometimes the brain sees what it assumes is there.... Provides a good chuckle though - I can imagine the expression on your face when you noticed it.... Cheers, RickO
Moral of the story :
Look closer, sooner.
Nice little surprise you got there!
It's John Wayne's birthday today and he would of been 110 today.
What a coincidence! John Wayne was one of my childhood and adult heroes and a Veteran to boot!
I was not into dimes and probably never even looked at it till now (still not into dimes!).
