Found another collector in the family

So the other day the wife shows me a pic on her phone from her brother. The pic is of a small suitcase apparently filled with coins. His comment was that he better bring them home from work before someone steals them! I have no idea why he had them at his job but he also said they probably were not worth much.

I can't tell too much from the picture because it's mostly rows of 2 x 2's and you can just see the edges. But I can see a large type dollar bill in a sleeve plus some silver certificates. There is also a silver Washington in view and a Walker half. The half has $3.10 marked on the 2 x 2 so if that's what he paid he must have been collecting for at least 10 years.

He lives far away but stayed with us for a few days this Christmas. I have a desk with my coin stuff on it but it's not real apparent so if he saw it he didn't say anything. Kind of eager now to find out what he collects and talk coins with him.

Anyone else have family that collects too? Or keep their collection at work?

That should be interesting.. a suitcase full of coins... No idea why they would be at work, is he in retail? That would make sense, just putting away interesting coins....I think a phone call would be in order. I have zero relatives interested in coins.... not even any close friends with an interest in coins... Had one buddy in Seattle that collected coins...Lost touch with him since I have moved East. My nephew pursues music on the side and has an impressive collection of guitars. Not bad for 23yo, but he still lives at home with no bills.
