Question on Rotated Die / Clash Marks

I posted this coin awhile back, but just noticed something weird about the clash marks. If I'm not mistaken, the clash marks on the date side correspond with a correct die orientation coin, not 180 degree rotated coin, yet the coin is 180 rotated. How was this done?

Assuming your analysis is correct (I didn't double-check) then it would seem the obverse die was clashed when the two dies were in proper orientation. Then, at some later point (perhaps after the die was removed for maintenance) it was inadvertently rotated and your coin was then struck.

Makes sense
I think the dies were aligned something like this when they clashed. It's not unusual for the dies to be slightly rotated and off center.
See what you think.

The current orientation is 180 degrees, but ya, that looks about what it was when it clashed. I wonder how it went from almost correct to upside down completely?
This.
Excellent pictures/overlay... shows it perfectly.... and I agree with Lance's explanation. Cheers, RickO
Possibly clashed with a different reverse die.
