Silver Dollar Coin Denominations

I have a few US silver dollars and have recently started branching out in to darkside silver "dollars". As part of this I wanted to see what foreign denominations resulted in dollar sized coins and came across this 1965 Treasury Department exchange rate document which I thought was interesting:

The "fixed rate" currency system didn't last too much longer after 1965. The fixed rate system began to clearly breakdown in 1968 and major currencies were allowed to "float" freely after March 1973.

As the fixed rate currency system began to breakdown in the late 1960s, many coin dealers began to experience huge demand for gold coins. Of course, Americans could legally only own gold coins dated 1933 and earlier at that time. It was a memorable era for coin dealers.

Nice info, thank you for sharing.

That would be a good guide to a collection and would be a help to those of us that don't focus well on one area.
