Hunted a one room school site this morning. No hits but did eyeball 2 marbles and a Killdeer next. Momma was not happy

The blue marble looks like a clay marble....nice old find... and the Killdeer nest is cool... Cheers, RickO

hahaha, had no idea as to what a "killdeer next" was. I don't think I've ever heard the name killdeer for a bird. How do they get that name? Are they big like owls and eagles?

No... It is named after it's call.... Neat birds... Check Wikipedia for a full review. Cheers, RickO

If you get close to a nest the one setting on it will squad and take off like it has a broken wing. Nest is very well camouflaged

My grandson had a little league baseball game last week and there was a Killdeer nest along the fenceline at the diamond. Momma squacked the entire game.

Here's a "savedeer" on Youtube...check it out! Might find something like this while detecting in the woods.
