Got out yesterday with some friends to a 1700s farm. Things started slow, but soon found a King George II half penny. It's pretty busted, but at least it can be identified. Then got a tombac button. One of the guys found an 1806 half cent there. We then moved to a second field where I quickly found two flat buttons, then got a nice 1749 KGII farthing! Then another flat button, and a fatty IHC (186?). It slowed way down for all of us after that, and I squeezed out one final button toward the end. Was nice to get out, but the ticks were ridiculous. May have gotten a fragment of another half penny. It's the same size, but I can't see any details, so could just be a piece of metal. HH all!

Nice finds again. Loads of buttons. It's obvious that you have done some homework in finding these areas. Do you use any kind of insect spray in these tick areas?

Great finds.... Hope you use tick repellent on your clothes and exposed skin...it is a nasty year for those little buggers.... Cheers, RickO
