Why? Is it overstruck? Registry item? Will it CAC?

I did not realize the poured bar collector market was this competitive. Cheers, RickO

Is the premium for Englehard bars even worth it?

Successful transactions: Illini420, Bajjerfan, Coinfolio, Chadc13, Konsole, DM679864, Weiss and many more

Just as a reference, this bar...not this exact bar that sold on eBay, but the same style sold between $600-685 2 times just less than 6 months ago.
When you searched "5 oz silver engelhard" on eBay a few months ago at least 25-30 bars would be being offered. Now, maybe 10. They are becoming harder and harder to find with the knowledge being put out there since the creation of allengelhard.com. People are realizing what they may have now. Simple supply and demand. This same bar could go for $2000 by the end of 2017. Laugh now, we'll check back then.

Who cares what it's called? It's real and it's happening without a doubt.

The demand is out pacing the supply. More and more collectors are seeing and appreciating these precious ingots for the scarcity, especially the tier 1 bars (<500 made)

I purchased two when I could This one cost me $300 in 2011. Perhaps I will place a higher value on it now.

I've got a 10 ounce that is scarce according to the allengelhard site. I just saw one similar (one variation off) sell on ebay for over $750. Perhaps I'm stubborn, but I'm holding mine as I like these bars too.

Wow! Can you imagine what that 5 oz Engelhard bar would bring if it were in a Black First Generation NGC slab! :o

Wow OGIM, your bar is the best I've seen, great strike, all digits, letters pure no defects, and the burst to complete it, awesome bar...

For my own knowledge, is the 'burst' the appearance of fireworks exploding from the center outward ? Probably.
    It does add interesting detail.

1630Boston, I never heard the "burst" or "starburst" described that way but yours the best description for that look that I've heard.

We should coin a new acronym: MOAB = Mother Of All Bubbles.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Engelhard bar thread. B)
