In another thread I posted my well worn 1795 Half Cent
Forum poster, carabonnair, noted "The mint cut down spoiled large cents and the tokens for half cent planchets."
Well today I glassed the copper and sure enough, the traces of the ship rigging show under the lettering on the half cent.

I'm also a bit surprised that I got that pic with a HAND HELD camera.
Thought I'd need my tripod and delay shutter.
But I think I got it good enough. ![]()

Now just get the token to go with it!
Nice find... and good picture...tough detail to capture.... Cheers, RickO
Neat! Also saves you the trouble of purchasing a T.A.&L. , LOL.
I'm a strong buyer of Bust Dollars struck over Spanish Pieces of Eight.
Surprised me.
I took about 10 pix all at different lighting and FINALLY....thought of FLASH.
Duh.
Popped right out.
Nice to see the rigging - I especially like two "coins" in one.
