1999 Connecticut D quarter error

Hi, I came on to this site to ask about this quarter I found today.

I don't know much about coins but it seems to have a weak strike. It's been circulated and I can't tell if the stamp is worn or if it's just incomplete. It's also thicker and about 64th of an inch smaller in diameter.
Anyway, I was hoping someone could tell me if I struck gold or maybe if it's worth getting it looked at. Thanks.

I think it is a normal coin that spent much of its time in a casino going through slot machines and coin counters.

That would be funny if that's all it was. I'm not convinced just yet though. If it wasn't for it being thicker with a shallow impression I would agree. I'm going to keep resourcing it.

It would be helpful to have better, more clear, pictures. Yours are taken too far away. Close up pictures would be great if you can swing it.

I agree with dcarr.... the rim has been upset a small amount due to wear, giving it a slightly thicker dimension, the reeds are worn off due to the same abuse..it is a common, modern quarter. Welcome aboard.... Cheers, RickO

Doesn't look like any error to me. A combination of things led to that quarter looking like that. I can only guess what they may have been, but they were all post mint damage.

It's been 'tapped' on the edge to give it that look,
and the surfaces are also damaged/altered.

it is not a mint error coin of any type. I assure
you it did not leave the Mint looking anything like this.
