Exactly what went through my mind as well. California dredged gold is much more vibrant yellow. Sort of like this color....these came from Indiana using my proline 2" dredge. NOT FOR SALE!

Could you shoot a pic of that nugget next to a gold eagle for reference? Maybe your camera or lighting is just off?
