I'm headed up to the Santa Clara Coin Show at the Santa Clara Convention Center in a few days. Anyone else going? If you make it to the show, be sure to stop by my table and say hi and also let me take your picture for my show report!

Santa Clara was the first coin show that I set up at after I started my business 25 years ago this month. I drove from Tucson in my red Mitsubishi Starion. The song of the trip was "Running Down a Dream" by Tom Petty.

Chris, look forward to seeing you, it's been a long time.

Dogwood, there's no rain projected, so hopefully there will be sunny skies. And be sure to mention that you'd like to participate in my show report because sometimes I forget to ask ;-)

Ricko, I'm bringing a nice Rombauer cab but should also be able to find some nice cabs at one of the great restaurants in that area.

    Boston, yep!

Why doesn't PCGS offer onsite grading at Santa Clara like they do for many other shows?

It's not a big enough show for them to do that. Several years ago when they used to own the show, it was twice the size and worth it for them to set up.

Just spent about two hours at the show. Picked up a toned barber dime for my US Type Set album. Nice way to spend a Friday morning.

I remember setting up at this show when Rudy Christian was the boss.

Thanks for the report, from what I've heard CA shows are busier in general than most of our shows in the East. The ubiquitous palm tree in southern FL and CA; as an aside, was watching a PBS program on how "palm sunday" could not have happened in the spring as the palms are a fall sprouting tree, but from what I've seen they in these pics. they are green year round.
