Used to collect lion medals. Here is one I purchased, back in 2007.

Albanian lions (the ones that got me started on Albania BTW)--
@TwoKopeiki -- that is a great Britannia design but I'm surprised anyone notices the lion. Even my husband, the non-coin guy, likes that one. The 'Pippa-tush' Britannia .
Cool Thread, not because I'm a Leo either

Taking a ride on one. I'd say that doesn't look like fun, but then I'd be "lion." HA!

A Bulgarian coin with the Madara Rider, and lion at his feet:

Lions? Yep. Can do.
Some of 'em you've gotta look for.
Some of 'em you've REALLY gotta look for.
Some of 'em are blatantly obvious.
Some of 'em @asheland might like, and will spur @aethelred's memories of 1994.
Here's my liondollar.
I'd give my left nut to find a legitimate chop marked example of this coin. Apparently there was one sold in the Bosco sale of the Hal Walls collection back in 1997. I had just started college so there's no way I could have participated, but I sure wish I had been a serious collector at that time. Many great coins directly in my area of interest were sold.
Lord M, those are sweet! I do like that off center shilling!

That's awesome!

Can't believe I forgot about this fellow. One of my earliest forays into medals and certainly part of the genesis of my Art Deco appreciation!
It's a mountain lion. The only feline on a US coin until this year's Lion's Club Dollar.

Can't post an image so I give up. This new forum software sucks.
