So, after salivating over some beautiful images of the 1850's Kellogg & Humbert monetary gold ingots (of which i'll never be in a position to own one) I was thinking about how cool it might be to produce a small run of silver counterparts. Imagine small to medium sized, different shaped silver bricks with similar style stampings on them including the actual monetary value of each bar on the very day they were produced! I have some experience with melting/pouring silver bars on a tiny production scale (sold 100-125 individual bars to members here awhile back). I wonder what kind of reception i'd have here for something like a beautiful, blocky .999 fine silver bar stamped with something like 12.37 ounces and $230.33? What do you guys think?

so we are talking about a silver Geckster bar? I would be interested in a 3-5 ounce size
As long as it has your title on it I am in for the $200 model. Cool idea.
Dcarr has been making pieces along these lines. Not poo-pooing, just saying. Maybe his success is support for the idea.

I have no doubt you will garner interest and sales.... Go for it... Cheers, RickO
Interesting idea and potential endeavor
Successful transactions with : MICHAELDIXON, Manorcourtman, Bochiman, bolivarshagnasty, AUandAG, onlyroosies, chumley, Weiss, jdimmick, BAJJERFAN, gene1978, TJM965, Smittys, GRANDAM, JTHawaii, mainejoe, softparade, derryb
Bad transactions with : nobody to date
yes
however, if executed well enough, they could be misleading to the masses.
perhaps date the back? or _____ the back.
Just make sure you don't tease at one price to garner interest, then change it once they go on sale.
I think those would be cool!
