Favorite Wax Box from each year of the 1980s?

I love unopened and I need a new project to start. Im toying with the idea of grabbing one box per year. What is your favorite wax box for each year of the 1980s? Doesn't matter the brand (obviously) nor does it matter the current value.

Here is my initial list

1980 - Topps
1981 - Donruss
1982 - Topps
1983 - Topps
1984 - Donruss
1985 - Donruss
1986 - Topps
1987 - Fleer
1988 - Topps
1989 - Upper Deck - Low Series

What's yours?

From a historical hobby point of view, it would be tough to beat 1984 Donruss. 1986 Donruss, 1987 Fleer, and 1989 Upper Deck Low. Each of those products drove a LOT of hype when they were released.

I'm a football guy, but in the world of '80's baseball, here is what I like just considering design/looks.

1980-83 Topps (I really like the 83 design. I may buy a box of that myself for the shelf!)
    1984 Fleer? (It's a coin toss)
    1985&86 Donruss
1987 Topps (First pack of cards I opened, sentimental vote for sure)
1988 Fleer ( Junk for sure, but IMO probably the best looking baseball card produced in the 80's)
1989 Upper Deck? (Another coin toss, the Donruss really appealed to me for some reason)

1990 Leaf is probably my favorite release from that time frame, but it's 90's. I'm actually considering doing a graded set but just don't know if I can keep focused on it enough to complete it. That would be a lot of money I could spend on football :)

I dont wanna grow up, Im a Toys-R-Us kid!

    1980 O pee chee baseball
    1981 O pee chee baseball

IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED

I'm a football guy as well, for 1980's FB it is really between 1984 Topps vs 1986 Topps. IMHO, 1984 Topps is the top 1980's FB box. 1986 is worth more, but the 1984 rookie class is much more interesting. Can you imagine if the USFL didn't exist and all of those rookie cards were in 1984 Topps? It would be at least a $3000 box.

That's right! Show OPC some love and I'll +1 it.

Always looking for OPC "tape intact" baseball wax boxes, and 1984 OPC baseball PSA 10's for my set. Please PM or email me if you have any available.

Yea, the 1984 rookie class in football might be one of the best for any sport. Thank goodness the Chiefs picked up Todd Blackledge in the draft :s

Looks/design wise I would lean towards 1986 Topps in football. But in football, I like a lot of the 80's designs. 1981,1983,1984,1986,1987,1988 are all awesome. Not so much a fan of 1980,1982,1985,1989.
