The new book, “United States Proof Coins 1936-1942,” is now available from Wizard Coin Supply – www.wizardcoinsupply.com. The book link is in the middle of the page.

The cost is $39.95 and I think most orders will qualify for a promotional shipping rate (but check when you order).
The book covers, in detail, nearly everything concerning this short series of proofs. Much of the material also applies to the 1950-54 proofs, too. But they are not directly part of the book.

See the PCGS Forum post https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/comment/11685160#Comment_11685160 for more details and discussion.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

I was told Saturday that shipping would begin on Monday.

Ordered mine, looking forward to reading it!

It's 330 pages, so you'll have plenty of reading to do. Use the full version CD (included, free) to search for any subject or word - the CD is an electronic index.

An article also appears in the May 8 issue of Coin World.

Hope you enjoy the book! The CD can be copied to your iphone-thing or tablet and taken to shows or club meetings. The CD is also a full-text index for finding any subject in the book.

PS: The book was prepared in MSWord 2010 and printed from a 2400dpi resolution PDF file. Cover was a PNG file prepared in Photoshop, as were the other illustrations.

I had to visit the distributor, Wizard Coin Supply, Monday and sign several more cases of books! The collector support and interest feels great, and makes all the unpaid work worthwhile!

A collector asked if this continues mechanical and operations information presented in From Mine to Mint. There is no intentional connection, but some details of making proof dies and striking the coins expand a little on FMTM.

Good luck with the book Roger. Is there an electronic copy for sale? ITunes, Kindle?

The printed book comes with a CD of the full text and images. This can be loaded onto a computer, most e-readers and many toy iphone things.

A small boost for the next group of collectors.

Also, an autographed copy is the same price as a plain one.
