Potentially Bo Jackson could have been better than all of them had he stayed healthy
I think (but may be wrong) that Bo Jackson is the only person to be an All Star in Baseball and a Pro Bowler in Football.
He was something. My favorite play of Bo was when he ran over that big mouth line backer from OK in the Pros.
I think you are right. I think Deion Sanders might have been the only one to play in a World Series and a Super Bowl. Too lazy to verify that

I may be in the minority here, but I think LaDainian Tomlinson is a top 5 running back of all time. His numbers speak for themselves, yet he hasn't been mentioned here at all. There's plenty of other recent running backs who don't seem to get any love here but were great when they played. Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson are the ones that stick out to me.

Both of those are great running backs. Anytime you make a list of anything or anybody.....some will get left out.

Everybody keeps going on about the line. Yes, the line gets you the hole and first...what..2 yards! from them on it's running ability. I'll stay with Emmitt
Smith only averaged a very pedestrian 4.2 yards per carry even with that OL. So I guess he was worth a whopping two yards a carry on his own using your reasoning

I never saw Jim Brown play but Berry Sanders was the best RB I ever saw, hands down.
Montana was the best QB I ever saw, till Brady eclipsed him.
I hate the Pats but if you're going to be an objective fan (I.e. the opposite of DM, lol), you give credit where credit is due.
I'd take Montana in a heartbeat over Brady. Elway and Marino as well.
Brady had a spectacular Super Bowl in February but needed an Atlanta collapse to win.
He's had four other Super Bowls wins besides that one, too. And the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history is pretty darn impressive regardless of what the other team did.
I had Montana ahead of Brady till this season, but Brady has now eclipsed him in my book. Montana also had the benefit of playing with the greatest WR of all time, while Brady keeps winning no matter who is running routes.
Like I said, I don't like NE, but give credit where credit is due.
Brady is also still playing at an extremely high level and may win another Super Bowl or two before all is said and done.
He is the GOAT.

The fact that you say " In a heartbeat" just sounds to me that your a novice football guy. There is no disputing that Brady is the best QB, look at it from any angle you want and Brady has Mintana covered.
As far as Super Bowl #7 goes ( LOL 7 ) it was more than a Falcons collapse, Brady had to lead that team to not only TD's, but TWO 2 point conversions, and 2 drives to tie the game AND win the game. Montana was great but he was no Tom Brady.
It used to be a coin flip between Brady and Montana. No more. Give me Brady.

Tim's clip is legendary, but here's my fav. FF to 3:06. A collision made in heaven -- Jack Tatum vs. Earl Campbell. Had this been anyone else, JT might have left them incapacitated. But this time he brought a knife to a gunfight. I remember seeing this when I was 7 and I've never been able to get it out of my head.

In fairness, it is not easy to compare a QB's career from the pound their heads into the ground era which extended through Montana's career, and the leave the quarterback alone era that began about a decade ago (and continues to accelerate.)
Brady is certainly a top five candidate of the modern era. He benefitted from playing for perhaps the best coach in history, but Montana was on an elite team as well.

Where does Eric dickerson fit? I remember him being a great back. Also, there was Thurman thomas and Marshall faulk if you like two dimensional backs.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
As far as Tomlinson goes the guy was great during the regular season but literally disappeared during playoff games.
Smith only averaged a very pedestrian 4.2 yards per carry even with that OL. So I guess he was worth a whopping two yards a carry on his own using your reasoning

Earl Campbell might have the best highlights for smash mouth football

It's just that my heart isn't moving so fast anymore.
Here is the highlight film on Tony Dorsett......who holds a record that will never be broken....the 99 yard run! I forgot how good he really was.
Here is a clip of Hollywood Henderson stopping Earl Campbell in his tracks. WOW! And Earl is a beast.

This was fun. Emmitt vs Barry on "MNF" in Dallas in 1994 in their prime. The last time they ever squared off.
