Not necessarily a single card. But IMO other than the Jeter, the most iconic "card/cards" of the 90's are the 93 Topps Finest Refractors.

I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid.

I would say the 1990 Score Bo Jackson Black and White card. Everybody in the card world knows I and even those outside of cards is familiar with it. When I think of iconic I can see the card instantly in my mind.

93 SP Jeter. If Mariano Rivera's 1992 Bowman card used the 1993 Bowman pic, instead of the country club douche look, that would be up there for me as well. Beautiful, underrated card, the 93 B.

1991 Michael Jordan Upper Deck Baseball

Billy Ripken Fleer FF error (edited to take this one back as I forgot that this was an '89 so doesn't work for this thread)

I thought of that Score Bo Jackson as well.

The 1990 bo was a great card. Seems I can remember that one selling for $15-20 back when it first came out.

I totally forgot about the 91 upper deck Jordan. Now that was an awesome card.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

1990-91 Upper Deck French Federov Rookie. People paid psycho money for those at one time. Nuff said.

1990 Leaf Frank Thomas and Sammy Sosa were about as hot as cards get at one point in time in the 90's

Also, 1992-93 Stadium Club Basketball Beam Team cards... still pretty pricey in high grade!

92 Bowman Piazza,90 Leaf Justice. But the 90 Leaf Thomas was really up there. No problem selling one in 90/91 for $50-$75.

Ahhh, I forgot that the Frank Thomas was 90 Leaf. I was thinking he came out the same year as Griffey. Yes, 90 Leaf Frank Thomas is probably the most iconic or the SP Jeter. Two must haves, IMO.

1990 Leaf Thomas - not a hotter card or tougher to find card or box in the early 90's
    1990 Score Jackson
    1993 SP Jeter
1994 SP Arod - until the roids...

Years and brands - 1992 Bowman, 1991 Topps(I believe with the gold versions), 1993 Finest (enough said) 1990 Score and UD Hockey with Lindros, Federico were smoking - even OPC Premier.

I would add Upper Deck Babe Ruth - A Piece of History. Started the game used memorabilia cards and spawned the highly sought after, at the time, 500 Home Run Club cards.

Maybe the 1991 Stadium Club Nolan Ryan in the tux.

the BO card probably wins though. There was time that would sell for $20 in 1990 money, which was more than a box of Topps.

That card an the over the top American obsession with Bo Jackson were probably responsible for launching baseball card collecting into the stratospheric level that existed from 1990 till the strike.

The reason I went with Thomas 90 Leaf is because in 90/91 he and Justice carried that set. IIRC the set Beckett booked at $300 at that time and into 1992. Series 2 boxes sold for $180. There were 2 Thomas RC cards in the Series 2 box. Packs for Series 2 sold for $6-$7 per with 36 packs per box. That was alot in 90/91 despite the price frenzy for other cards. 91 Stadium was hot as well for the Thomas,Bagwell,Ryan tux cards. 92 Bowman (Piazza,Delgado) single packs sold for $4-$6. Jumbos around $12-$15. Trouble with the jumbos though they were searchable by pushing up the cards in the pack. You had to trust your dealers honesty when purchasing these.

First thing I thought was 90-91OPC Premier Federov. That card was red hot here in Metro Detroit.

I agree, the Fedorov (not Federov!) cards were as hot as it gets for a while at least in Michigan, but I don't think anything can beat the Score Bo Jackson card for iconic status from '90's issue, '93 Jeter included.

Love the Bo. Paid crazy money to get this SGC 100. Not sure if it's still the only one.

Always buying 1971 OPC Baseball packs.
