Roll Searching

Well.... after years of searching rolls of half dollars - and all my complaining here on the forum - Today at the bank I asked for a roll of halves... she had one and it was professionally rolled... said she did not have any hand rolled just then.... So, I said ok, told her one of these days I would get lucky. Did not expect anything since it was bank rolled... However, third coin was a Walker - 1941, in about VF35.... No treasure, but sure made my day.... Cheers, RickO

Very cool, Ricko. That would get my heart racing, too.

That's great Rick and I do not shy away from bank wrapped rolls with the found items I have posted before.
Which I will post again if anyone would like.

Nice score Ricko. I would be absolutely shocked to find a Walker in a roll.
Nice find, that would make my day as well.
My bank would never have any halve rolls, about 2 weeks ago I asked if they had any and the tellers says how many would you like... I said i'll take them all. She then tells me she has 420 rolls, I said OH! I'll take 5 please.
That's a better find than I have ever made!

That's funny.
Yes please. It never gets old and keeps me interested in asking for rolls.
Cool!

Well done sir. Persistence always pays off.
there's always a silver lining ;^)
Awesome!!!!! Shoot I'm happy with just a 40 percent half that's a great find
HAPPY COLLECTING
Photos or it didn't happen!
Nice find.
I wonder how the o/c made it into a cent wrapper.
I would of have always wondered what I may have missed out on and left behind in those left behind rolls.
Great score. If it was toned would you have "thrown it back?"
Yeah and I'd be at every local bank buying all their half dollars.
Great... now you have to keep asking don't you?
I think it's been about 8 years since I found a walker in a roll from the bank.
Maybe this is your chance to post your first pic (or have I missed that one?)
Congrats RickO...now make our day here at CU and learn how to post a picture...it's the perfect senerio, a low value "treasure" that won't breach the security of your collection...your like that one girl on Bourbon St every year during Fat Tuesday who happily takes "free" beads even though her shirt is superglued to her body...Show us that doggone Coin man
well done .
Hip hip hooray! Congratulations Rick!
@3keepSECRETif2rDEAD.... You did not miss my first picture...still have not done it....though I have some gadgets that may get me there.... Cheers, RickO
Congrats @ricko

@ricko -if you're worried about your name or location or device data, you can use a common EXIF data stripper. This removes date, time, device, geolocation, device information, IMEI# etc.. all the things someone would need to find you or cross reference the picture to something else on the Internet. Provided you strip every image, it's a "blank slate", in that nobody can use the photos to find you. Some sites use this on top of cloud flare platforms to "break apart and make whole again". If you'd like help let me know. Of course, you'd have to remember to not use that photo again on another site or somewhere else that can tie it to you... aka, delete after posting. Cheers!
@Azurescens.....Thanks... I am not at that point yet, however, I appreciate the offer - may consult in the future. Cheers, RickO
Awesome find Ricko!

Just enough positive reinforcement to keep looking. (Kind of like instant lottery tickets)
A waste of time? Maybe or maybe not in theory, but for me personally you will never convince me that it is a waste of time.
Last year I was "searching" the least likely sort of roll - a solid roll of current date coins (2016 nickels) and I found a 2016 nickel struck on a 2015 nickel. It is being stabbed as we speak and I will post pics on my original thread once I get it back
That discovery will keep me going for a long, long time.
I suspect they were all 2014 gold Kennedys.
