These came in a massive load of variety/error coins this weekend. I think I got 3 of them correctly identified, one I think is one of 2, and 3 of them aren't listed on the CUD website. I don't have the Thurman & Margolis Cud Book - any help would be appreciated.

1) 1917D - CU-1c-1917D-06 / LC-17D-1

2) 1917S - CU-1c-1917S-05R / LC-17S-6R
http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-cuds-1909-1958/

3) 1926D - LC-26D-1 - Not on the cud website (Thanks goodmoney4badmoney)

4) 1939 - Can't match it - Close to one, maybe different die state

5) 1946 - Can't match it = Suspected PMD, not CUD.

6) 1983 - CU-1c-1983- (18 or 30)?

7) 19XX - CU-1c-ND-33

I've had a lot over the years too, but I have more of a "Catch and Release" style. With the vast majority of the errors/varieties/oddities, I like to get them in hand, identify them, study them, take some pictures, try to understand them, then move them along to someone else to accumulate boxes and boxes of them. I have too many boxes waiting to get sorted so try not to keep boxes of them after they are sorted, although that no date one is pretty eye appealing.

Very nice group of cud cents.... in all the cents I have looked at over the years (wow..too many - years that is), I have never found a cud on a cent.... found blank planchets and delaminations, but no cuds... Cheers, RickO

The 1946 looks like PMD, not a legitimate cud. That's probably why you can't match it.

I'm addicted to exonumia ... it is numismatic crack!

Coin 3 is in The Cud Book as LC-26D-1
I couldn't match any others that you have unattributed. I also have the 2001 Cud Book Supplement and no matches there either. Also, #5 looks like damage and not a cud.

Thanks for the help so far - the 1946 is in such horrible shape, it's too bad. I saw many rim CUDs that looked similar, just wasn't sure.

i'd like to see the edge. ive owned several collar cuds and split collar cuds.

    they are very nifty.

Interesting how much wear they have. Apparently a lot of people are not observant or do not care.

well, those are some pretty nice close-ups.

it certainly looks to be in-line with the various types/shapes/sizes of collar cuds i've held.

i think the line will be drawn if a decision can be made about where the "extra" metal meets the normal.

i'm not sure what source is the most up-to-date but the books i have are for sure not the most comprehensively current. and all the sources i've viewed and its been a while since i've checked, were also, not all-inclusive of the cuds i've seen/held and i've not even given it an A effort.

obviously, sticking this in a 2x2 or whatever until a decision can be made is a good idea. you already know that though. ;)

again, neat coins, good images and presentation.
