A friend purchased for $10 at a flea market today.... If it is real, you may want to look at the coin through that lens... if fake, then I agree with you....
Real (based on what I see in those photos). Date and mintmark positions seem consistent with VAM-4. Also, the date font looks to be correct and it doesn't have the usual fuzziness of a lot of the counterfeits.
You Suck! Awarded 6/2008- 1901-O Micro O Morgan, 8/2008- 1878 VAM-123 Morgan, 9/2022 1888-O VAM-1B3 H8 Morgan | Senior Regional Representative- ANACS Coin Grading. Posted opinions on coins are my own, and are not an official ANACS opinion.
I don't know anything about Morgans, but general morphology looks OK to me. Rims make me think it might have been in some jewelry or a belt buckle at some point.
Though I think the obverse looks genuine, there's something about the reverse that has me wondering if this might be a fake. The eagles head is especially suspect. I may be wrong of course! Great score if it is real!

Thanks to all for checking in...he bought 10 Morgan dollars for $100! Two others of note, are a 1882 CC VG/ 1879 CC G/ obviously this would be the icing. I'll have the coin in hand on Friday...if looks good, will send on to our hosts for authentication. A good week to all- RJ

I vote is real. 26.6 grams is correct for this year and mint.

Ugly is a matter of perspective - I like it!
If made out of silver the buyer is already showing a profit. Looks like it could be real to me. I'd have taken the chance.

Looks authentic .... Do not see any apparent evidence of counterfeiting... MM looks right.. Worn but real. Cheers, RickO
