I'm pleased he removed the neg, but it's still unfair to sellers to feel pressured to give away their merchandise in order to have said negative removed.
It's an eBay quid pro quo, but if you think about it, the only thing you're getting in return is being bent over.
I'll take a neg here and there just so the idiots don't get a free lunch on me.

I agree Mannie 100%. But for $7 It really wasn't worth it as I still have about 50 or so coins I want to sell. And if I have a "does not look like picture" on a negative feedback it may hold back a buyer or two from bidding. Especially when We are talking about coins. I'll just chalk it up to a lessen learned and move on.

To someone not acquainted with the product, it could seem like the black box was the lid to the box in the back. Just saying.

I agree with you. Should only show the item your selling.

Did the person try and contact you first? Just give his couple bucks back if he will remove the neg. That neg will cost you a lot more than 7 bucks in the next year.

Speaking for myself, a single or even a couple negs in a seller's history, especially when they have a good number of positives, does not affect my decision to buy from them at all. If I see several within the last year or so, I look at what was said and how the seller responded and base my decision on that.

    I agree 100%, or 99.6% :)

Since I am also a seller I know how unreasonable buyers can be.
I think sellers overestimate the impact of an occasional negative, and buyers prey upon that fear.
If I am deciding if I am going to buy/bid with a seller I am not familiar with, and I see a feedback like this: Buyer: "Not received on time, slow shipping" and the seller doesn't respond, ok, that's cool, eBay calculates the arrival time for items, the seller doesn't, and people don't understand that, I think. And besides that, I can wait a few days for something. I don';t really care.

However if I see "Not rec'd on time" as feedback and seller responds "IDIOT! LOSER!!!!! I AM NOT YOUR MAILMAN....I DON"T WORK FOR POST OFFICE!!" I'll stay away.
As a seller, I have rarely responded to negs, or if I feel I have to, I respond in a logical way without resorting to spleen venting or name calling (which is what I would LIKE to do....but shouldn't do).
AS a buyer, if I have over 13,000 feedback, 99.9% positive, will it make you feel any better if I have 100%?
I don't think it's worth it in principle to give in to the idiot scammers who know EXACTLY what they are doing.

Very recently a buyer bought a coin from me very late on a Friday night (actually 2 AM Sat. morning my time.)
Sometimes I go to the post office on Sat., usually I don't--it's just too crowded. And I state in my listings that I will ship next business day.
So this clown starts sending frantic emails on Tuesday asking in all caps, "WHERES MY COIN!?????" and things like that. Many times. This is Tuesday, mind you....and oh yeah, it was the Tuesday following MLK day--which was first business day after the sale.
Did it take a genius to see that one coming??
I responded that Tuesday was the first business day after his purchase and that there was no mail delivery on the preceding Sunday, obviously, or Monday. I tried to make it easy for the idiot to grasp this fact.
    Guess what happened..........hmmm......?

Feedback revision requests works in many cases. . . once the buyer has had a chance to rethink his actions.
