    A different Shell/platformate commercial showed a spokesman holding a $6000 bar of platinum and explaining that some of that noble metal was in each gallon of Shell gasoline.

    I asked my dad how they could afford to do that....he just gave me that look that a smart father gives his still shallowly educated son.

    We haven't had a good spike in platinum prices for a decade. But, we will.
