I'm just starting in these and looking for a Value guide to use. Any suggestions?

    Your purple Horseshoe is $5-10
The Circus Circus is just a couple of bucks.
The keeper here I think is the Flamingo's.....Condition is key....They don't look new and are not a common chip. Don't know the price on them but worth the research.

Here is one resource, for starters:
    ANTIQUE GAMBLING CHIPS, Seymour. Soft-Bound 1985, 286p.
Check on current availability with Rich Hartzog - www.exonumia.com
You also should consider looking at an index of TAMS journals. I'm quite confident that there are TAMS members who specialize in casino chips.
Also, the numismatic web site coincommunity.com would be a good place to post your question, in the appropriate discussion group.

The site of the Casino Chip and Gaming Tokens Collector's Club might lead you to some useful information including a message board: http://ccgtcc.com

Great chips. I come across the nickel & silver dollar casino tokens from time to time and I have a few 1 oz silver Harveys Casino Tokens available. A good resource for these could be www.pokerchipforum.com.
I believe your Binions chips is worth somewhere around $10. Pretty neat chip considering that is where the World Series of Poker started back in 1970.

Great question and not off topic at all IMO since there is no dedicated forum for exonumia.

I'm addicted to exonumia ... it is numismatic crack!

I recall Heritage auctioning casino chips in the past. Try checking their archives.

It would be rather hard to create a comprehensive catalog of these, as there are so many! However, I bet there are a lot of specific gaming chip catalogs.

There's a guy named Lehigh on some other forums. He collects them I think. I can find out if you want. Send me a PM if interested.

I collect casino chips... have for quite a few years, although not many recently. My main focus is the ones with the silver inserts.... I have no books on them .... I need to rectify that.. will check some of the references above. That reminds me...since it is snowing here today, I should pull them out of storage and see what I have again... :) Cheers, RickO

The purple Binions is Minty fresh looking .. very nice example..

Good advice above about the club and forum. They can easily answer your value questions. Sadly the market has taken a pretty big hit since its mid 90's peak, but they are still cool to collect . My wife still has a pretty large collection and I have a coin box full of Chipco samples somewhere buried around here .

    Enjoy !!
