Louis L'Amour books with coins!

Two passions in one! I collect "vintage" Louis L'Amour paperbacks and have read nearly everything he ever published.
In several books coins are a theme or major plot point.
Many of the Sackett collection involved coins and heirloom coins, as did several other books and short stories.
The roman coins described and the collector, in Sacketts Land, stand out. The very beginning of the book is about discovering old coins!!!
Many mentions of gold eagles and silver dollars, robbers, etc.
Any one else a fan? Remember any of Louis' coin themed books?

It's yours. PM me your address.
Sent. You are awesome! That's really cool! I went to eBay and looked right away, but didn't buy one yet. I'd be glad to send you something for it and shipping.

Great old stories... read many as a kid.... I wonder if he was a collector? Might well have been with the focus on coins in many stories.... Cheers, RickO
One of my more vivid memories is when he came to visit our small elementary school in Idaho. We all met in the gym and got to listen to him & have a Q & A for an hour or two. Good stuff
Thank you very much! This is awesome! I really appreciate it.
Best wishes.

Very cool book collection.
And forumites helping forumites.
Love reading these books. Also have a box full that have been read multiple times.
Got about 25-30 in the attic, love his stuff.
I only know of him through that immortal line from Jimmy Buffett's song, "Who's the Blonde, Stranger" ....,'How would Louis Lamore get me next to that girl?'
.
I have read a number of his books including his book on the Crusades and his science-fiction novel.
Inspired by these posts I got a copy of the Louis L'Amour book Sackett's Land and started reading it.
The book starts with Barnabas Sackett in 1599 Stamford, England, who finds some Roman gold coins and takes them to a man who had previously been in the area buying antiquities.
Barnabas: "and I'd been told he paid a guinea for a bronze axe dug up in a field".
A Guinea is a British gold coin which was first made in 1663.
I wonder if he put that in the book to see how many people spotted it.

I remember driving across Nevada many years ago listen to his books on tape. The countryside helped with the mood.
