My cousin used to throw an oscar party every year during the Oscar's. Her and her husband would do up the whole house and they would invite all their friends but they had to come in tuxedos and fancy dresses or they couldn't come in . They would lay a red carpet out leading from the driveway to the house. My gig if I was around was to do the valet parking , they had a huge field where the cars would go , everyone had to enter one group at a time it was this whole ritual they would pull up and me or someone else would take the car and they would stroll up the red carpet , one of my other cousins would stand at the head of the carpet and ask the guests what they were wearing like she was one of those entertainment reporters. Everyone had to play along at least until they got inside.
The parties stopped when the divorce happened , it was pretty bizarre actually in retrospect ,
