1646 Irish Pistole Questions

Can anyone tell if this is authentic?
What is an approximate value if so?
Thank you.
I edited this post to crop the coin better.

If real it is quite valuable. These are counterfeited however per the current Spink guide if I recall.
I'd send it in for grading as your best bet on authentication without sending overseas to an expert in the UK or Ireland.

PCGS will not grade the coin.

Edited to reflect a more accurate statement, the gentlemen that has the coin claimed they said they would not. See below for comments on NGC.
I just called NGC, it looks like they are willing to assess it, it's rather expensive though if they determine that it isn't real. Is anyone able to help from the photos or will this need to be sent in physically?
Looking at the photo from the O'brien coin guide, is it possible that the outer edge could have had as much variance between the coin pictured and the one I have photographed? Both the outer lip (thicker notches) and the inner circle (thicker appearance) are different than the one pictured in the guide.
Tough coin. It used to be the only Irish gold.
Maybe show it to DNW or Spink at the ANA convention?

I too would lean to fake. From a BNJ article (PDF) linked at the site linked to already, scroll down to the plates and look at CP.3
