Hello, new here and somewhat new to coin searching. In the picture it appears to be a die break
as opposed to lamination error. Can anyone confirm this please.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi and Welcome to school! I say school because you'll not only be taught in coins but in many other areas as well. Such as, in ethics, manners and in business. This coin forum that you decided to join was a wise choice. Our Forum is pretty knowledgeable about coins and what have you. I see you're interested in variety/errors. I too are into such coins. It makes the Hobby twice as fun. Along with more of a chance to make a profit. Post often and don't be a stranger. Most of all, have FUN! Once again, Welcome to our Forum. -joey

When did we get manners?
Welcome! Neat find btw! What type of device did you take the picture with?
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
It is indeed a die crack (or break). Nice!
Welcome to the forum!

Hello and thanks for all the comments so far! The camera I am using is the Opti-Tek Scope Model OT-HD. You can get on Amazon for around 90.00 or so dollars.
Pretty sharp!

Oh I would also like to mention that the penny I found with the crack was a 2016 d.
thx
I agree with it being a die crack but would like to see a picture of the whole coin (because of it's date). Can you post it OP?
Can you adjust your color? Maybe an old tungsten light bulb will help? Is it red or that steel grey color?
bob:)
Nice microscope camera for that price. Sounds like you just plug it in and go. I would also love to see a picture of the whole coin as well.

Welcome!
I too share your interest in cents and varieties (but errors....not so much).
Great pictures, keep looking and let us know of any additional finds.
@CNCMACHINIST...Welcome aboard. That is indeed a die crack..... Great picture and a nice set up you have.
Cheers, RickO
I will post a picture of the whole coin asap..I need to do some adjustments for lighting to show its true brilliance and color.
Heres a bit better pic of the coin, plus I had said it was 2016 D but it was only 2016 P.
I think I might buy one of those setups. It takes nice pictures. Do you just plug it in and go?
