Best Digital Organization

Hello all!
I hope this is the right place to post...I recently inherited a large coin collection that was my father's. 80-85% of the collection is slabbed and graded, and I'm grateful that he was so diligent with his collection (most of it is Eagles and Bullions ranging from the 1800s to the 2000s). I've been doing my research, got my trusty red book, purchased holders to keep them organized by type, and I am in the process of organizing them in a spreadsheet to create an inventory to start finding buyers.
My question: Is there a quality program out there to help me digitally organize my inventory collection, or is it just as easy to use excel?
Thank you!

Excel works and once the bugs are worked out of the 'PCGS set registry' you can enter them there
Successful transactions with : MICHAELDIXON, Manorcourtman, Bochiman, bolivarshagnasty, AUandAG, onlyroosies, chumley, Weiss, jdimmick, BAJJERFAN, gene1978, TJM965, Smittys, GRANDAM, JTHawaii, mainejoe, softparade, derryb, Ricko
Bad transactions with : nobody to date
You will have plenty of folks who suggest Excel and I will echo that recommendation. Also, the PCGS registry allows you to enter your certified coins (both NGC and PCGS) and you may keep the registry set private so no one can see the contents. Good luck and please do not hesitate to ask for help with coins.
