A decent chunk of the cards on display, I had as a kid in the early and mid eighties. It was fun picking ones to display where I didn't care about the value, i just think the card or player is cool. Such as:
Ron Jaworski
John Jefferson
Wes Chandler
Herman Edwards
Ickey Woods
Vinny Testeverde
Brian Bosworth
Cliff Branch
Lester Hayes
Moses Malone
Bobby Jones

Thanks for the comments. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun and many years in the making. BlueJay, I like the Yankee Stadium touch at the top and the lockers. My wife who is a complete non-sports fan thought it looked very nice.
That looks like a serious amount of custom framing. Do you have a specialist that does that?
I did a little count the other day, and I had about 60 frames that were either Pennzoni or cheap magazine frames from hobbyframes.com. 10 frames were $25 frames that hold 20 cards each that I bought at Michael's. And then I had about 30 custom frames that I had done at Michael's. Unfortunately, that was not a cheap process which was definitely part of the reason that it took me so long to pull the trigger. Yes there are 100+ frames total.

How do the custom frames work. do the cards just sit in there, or are the slabs afixed somehow? Do you access from the front, or have to take it down from the wall to get to the back?
The frames with individual cards, slabs, or unopened packs have access from the front via a hinge. I'm pretty sure the company I bought them from (6 years ago) was Pennzoni. I have been happy with them. The uncut sheets I have no access to.
What I used to do with the slabbed and loose cards (in rigid card holders) was tilt the frame enough (by propping out the bottom of the frame away from the wall) to allow the cards to lay in the frame by gravity. What I did very recently in the pictures that I just posted was apply a very small amount of sticky tack to the back of the slabs or rigid card holders to keep them secure. That way I am able to mount the frames parallel to the wall which looks better.

Blee1 - What is going on the stage? Is that for theater seating? I like the pinball machine. Did you notice my Dorsett rookie in the uncut sheet. 1978 is essentially my favorite year because they are the first packs I ever ripped at 8 years old.
How's the 1977 Mexican set going? I think that is a really cool set, but all I have is a Bob Griese and a couple unopened packs. I just haven't delved into it too much.

Swank, that turned out great, well done.
Is that your parents?
Thanks. Yes, those are my parents. My Dad was a big help for about 50% of the work. The rest I did when a buddy came over. Went a lot quicker with two people than trying to juggle all the measuring and nailing etc. on my own.

I love the three TV setup for vids. I contemplated getting two 42" tvs for my basement, but my wife thought that might be overkill. She's probably right.
yes game used Panama Born Players ...The three tvs are all hooked up to direct tv so you can watch 3 different baseball games at the same time... or three different football games at the same time ....
ill take a picture of the bats in the ceilings .. i forgot to take....tvs are so inexpensive now days .....my wife tells me everything i do is overkill. i cant listen to her when it comes to my man cave. Cowboy seats were overkill. Arcade game is a NEO GEO system that plays every NEO GEO from my time. That was overkill. she said. lol.

I agree. So many houses in the Southwest are devoid of basements.
Nice touch with the Yankee Stadium facade.
