One of the lazier eBay fakes I've seen in a while...

Listed as an '1876 Trade Dollar'. I believe the images speak for themselves.

yup. one of those unique specimens. the unknown dated early us mint coins are my favorite and should be bought whenever opportunity provides. ;)

gotta love that it seems to be an error as well. look at that reverse rim!

link to other active puke-worthy items vis-à-vis, yup.

It's the much-admired Broad Mill variety. But I'd be more interested if the date were 1866. Well, maybe not. :/

Removed!? Why? It's a fantasy piece. There is no such thing as a seated 1806 seated dollar.

But I thought it was common knowledge that all 1876 coins were dates 1806 ;)

Gobrecht started working for the Mint in 1823. Perhaps he was already working coin patterns in 1806? ;)

One of Gobrecht's prenatal works -- precocious kid, was he, even as separate sperm and egg.

He was 21 in 1806, the date of the coin. Since he was born on December 23, 1785, we'd need to find an 1785 coin for it to be prenatal - not saying they aren't around ;)
