A Type collection of everything pre-1964 is the most beautiful spread of coins one can acquire.
I wish the Mint would have just kept to it's job, plus the SMS & Proof coins. All heck has broken loose since the state quarter series. Visiting the US Mint website, is just ridiculous. I understand people have budgets, but you are much better off with a "VG" piece of history than a PR70 reverse cameo yada, yada that the mint can churn out by the billions.
Example...
Years ago, a cameo proof coin was special. Today's cameo coins are nothing but a another way to gouge the collector.

Though most of my forum activity is centered on 1950 to 1970 Cameos i collect a variety of coins from the US and from othrr countries. Also have some currency and medals. The coins pictured in this thread are from my 7070 type set.
Very nice coins SanctionII... I am not usually attracted to SLQ's... but that one is really nice....I would buy that one if I saw it at a show... Cheers, RickO

Silver half dollars are always fun to handle.
I knew it would happen.
Those look nice. Are you changing your direction in collecting?
All three look like super coins for a collection of classic us silver!
Fabulous keepers!

I agree with ricko, wonderful quarter. Would that black spot on the reverse come off with acetone or would that hurt the coin?
