One tiny newp this week:
Though I may also get stuck with this beauty if nobody wants to buy her. That'd be a shame, wouldn't it?
We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

I never get tired of these threads. Great week for you guys!
hch, you really hit it out of the park this week with that haul of constitutional silver.
I'm only a spectator this week. No new ounces for me.
MY GOLD TYPE SET https://pcgs.com/setregistry/type-sets/complete-type-sets/gold-type-set-12-piece-circulation-strikes-1839-1933/publishedset/321940
Picked this up, allengelhard.com estimates a mintage less than 250.
@Weiss...Which beauty are you referring to?? Cheers, RickO
i like the silver bars
What I find amazing with my haul is that when you stack up 3 rolls of quarters, 2 Washington and 1 Standing Liberty, how different the heights are. You can see it in the top right of my photo. Even the 2 Washington stacks are way different. I put all 1964 and one 63 in the one stack and the other stack had many from the 30's and 40's. Check out how much less silver is in the standing liberty stack.
It just makes you realize if you are stacking 90% to go by weight and buying the later year stuff is going to get you more silver.
I also weighed each coin and it is quite a difference.
The 8 Escudo piece, @ricko . I listed it in the January PM sale thread. I just started one for February. I'll re-list it for a few days, and if it doesn't sell it'll go into the "private reserve"

finally used my ebay bucks, so my "goodies" are in the mail
Nice haul! I wonder if you have a weight of 40 SLQ's at one time, vs 40 of another, etc, or of some other equal number of coins per stack? Those are noticeably huge differences between the 3 stacks!
And you have individual masses for individual coins in each series of 25c? what was the range of individual masses within a particular series? Just interested...
I didn't write down any of the individual weights.
that bird should be dirtier
Not really a stacker.....but.....this happened.....
@SurfinxHI ...Very nice Morgan..Might go 66 today.... Cheers, RickO
After finding a new "group" on FB, I have been doing nothing but selling, more than doubling my initial cost because of the way it is set up. All I can say is thank God for raffles and the Admins that canme up with the idea.
I wont bother mentioning it here because payment is only done using PPG. Sorry, nothing to add except $ to my pocket.
Got this on Saturday:

asheland, the maker is John King from London. Marks on the bottom of this mug are shown below:
I found the following about John King after a bit of on-line searching:
Son of Joseph King of St. Margaret Shatton in the County of Wiltshire yeoman, apprenticed to Henry Brind 2 May 1750 on payment of £31.10s. and turned over 2 March 1751 to William Shaw. Free, 3 August 1757. First mark entered as plateworker, 22 April 1775. Address: 73 Little Britain. Second mark, 14 June 1775. Thurs, 13 June 1777. Fourth, 3 September 1779. Fifth, 11 August 1785. Address: 1 Moor Lane, Fore Street. Sixth mark, 4 September 1789. Address: Moor Lane, where Heal records him till 1800. His son Joseph was apprenticed to him 5 January 1780, when King is described as of Little Britain, plateworker, Citizen and Goldsmith.

ricko, like asheland noted you can search ebay and find a fair number or mugs and tankards. I usually search for "sterling silver tankard". One of my mugs was purchased when ebay bucks were at 8%.
I have found a good selection of mugs and tankards at Online Galleries http://www.onlinegalleries.com/ where numerous dealers list their inventory. The mug pictured above was from waxantiques in London, UK http://www.waxantiques.com/mugs-tankards - they're nice people and ship quickly.
I suggest searching a bit to learn pricing and to find the style you want. Popular makers like Hester Bateman will carry a premium.

@OnlyGoldIsMoney...Thanks... I have put in a bid on a couple... will see how it goes.... My preference is the tankard style.. which does not seem as common at some others.... also I like the pint capacity. Cheers, RickO
kalshacon, that type of Engelhard 1 kilo is quite scarce. I am glad to have one example. Nicely done.
