I like the wheat cent.

Would be happy with either
A tough call
The history behind the 42 is sexier, but the 74 is more valuable due to its notoriety.

Hmmm...I have a choice...which one do I prefer...
Anyway, thank you for the dream invitation - however brief, it is a pleasant dream!
(Chose 42 for the sheer beauty blast mirroring in the photo)
Definitely the '42.....but would really like to find either one in change.... Cheers, RickO
Why not both?

I prefer the 1942 because it is prettier.
Definitely the 42.
Give me the '42 and melt the '74 since it's only worth aluminum scrap prices, in my opinion.
the 1942, i like the eye appeal on it
The 42 is a proof with a better reverse design. The 74 is a business strike. Not a fair contest!

Not even a question, the '42. But I do like the way you brought them together. Interesting look.
Both, doesn't matter, both unobtainable.
I will go with the 1942.
i don't like aluminum coins, but that 42 is great and i would certainly own either.
My understanding is that it's perfectly legal to own the 1942. Has there ever been any private ownership issue with this coin?
1942
by far
I know the story on the 1974, what is the sexy history on the 1942? I would love to know
Love the look of the 1942.

The 42 is gorgeous and I would like owning it, but something is more appealing about business strike working man appearance the 74 has. Like it was not made to be a capsule queen the way proofs are.
Both are from before my time, but the Memorial reverse is the cent of my youth. And dirty socks.

42 looks better to me. I like wheat cents.
Why not an aluminum Indian?

What about the 1975? It could easily exist. Anyway, I’m partial to the 42, mostly because it’s Sylvester and Esmeralda’s favorite.

Think WW2, 42 plastic trial pieces, 43 steel and copper cents, comic book ads, and 44 steels. That plus that the 42 aluminum was unknown to almost everyone until it magically appeared here on the forum less than a decade ago!

It was a great post on the forums and a great thread. It was originally posted by @Travel who purchased it in the 80s. The original raw photos were great showing the extra thickness as a peidfort as well. It’s too bad the raw photos are gone now.
Here are the original threads:
Where's the "BOTH" check box? That's my vote!
