Does anyone have...

...a gold-bean CAC coin that they don't agree with?....that is, said coin ISN'T undergraded.

With the exceptions of some AU58 gold-bean CAC coins, I can't recall ever seeing a gold-bean CAC coin that didn't seem blatantly undergraded...

Just curious if anyone has an example.

Yes, I have good photos of one that many would agree shouldn't even be in a straight-grade holder. I have reasons not to share it though and will not comment on it further.

i have seen a few...but to be fair, they were not my series. however, there were quite a few half dollars at the HA auction for last years ANA with gold cac. some were amazing and a few were quite underwhelming in my opinion.

No, and since it would get a sticker at the next grade up, it has to be amazing for the grade assigned.

No, but I did have a dream one night that I had to stand at the position of attention to present my coins to JA for approval. It scared me.

CAC is just an opinion NOT gospel. I have seen many coins with stickers that I wouldn't own.

I presently only have one Gold CAC and it happens to be an AU58...but I agree with JA's assessment, although it fits in my Everyman Set.

Don't have picture of it at this time, but a friend called to say he got a gold bean on an 1851 Three cent silver in old NGC 63 , but when I actually got to see it, it was at best grade on holder. Clearly undeserving of the gold bean.

Also might add, most I see are quite nice, in fact one that I have personally (a classic head lg cent) is easily 4 grades undergraded and a wow coin.

    jdimmick...4 grades!? Sweet.

As RickO said, just 'rumor'.......I realize it may be uncouth to post a pic of an example, given the various interests involved........
