@TenneseeDave That sure appears to be a sharp strike and minimal wear for a VF-35!
If you would like to see the actual press that your Carson City trade dollar was quite possibly minted on then here is a link that you may find of interest:
It would be completely impossible for me to choose just one coin, from my entire set, as I love them all and many are very special to me.
BUT, this one is my latest and it is one of my favorite Walker issues.
It is a coin that I chased, in my youth, and the nicest example that I had ever owned, before it, was a choice, raw 63 that was a bear to sell, as many dealers turned their nose up at it, since it wasn't certified. I was finally able to move that one at a local show for a slight loss.
I, also, briefly owned a PCGS 64 that I quickly flipped, b/c I didn't care for it's surface preservation, which wasn't very good. I made a few bucks on it, so I guess that things kind of balanced out.
This is the first time that I have ever owned a PCGS gem example. This one fits my set well and I am keeping it. No need to upgrade this one.
Sometimes, itβs better to be LUCKY than good. π πΊπ
There are still a few who haven't posted that I was looking forward in sharing with us their pride and joy. Hopefully those that haven't yet will add before this thread becomes an afterthought. I just want to say thank you once again for all of you that have so graciously shared these treasures that few of us can afford to own.

Just noticed though that the thread did officially make 5,000 views.
I guess I could add my 1861-S Paquet Reverse Double Eagle. The story behind the coin adds to its interest. Of particular note a mint state example has yet to be discovered as apparently the few minted by "accident" slipped into circulation before anyone appreciated their rarity.

This thread has been like a box of chocolates....I didn't know what I would get. Thank you all for these treats.
Well this is my current favorite. I have another favorite that is in for grading, it may overtake this coin when I get it back.

Nice job by the photographer to capture the cameo look.
