Do you ever....for no damn reason...

Get a new coin and then "think" it would be "right" to sell one you have but aren't CRAZY about?
I do, and I can afford new coins but some stupid nagging thing from days when things were TIGHT make me feel like I should ...limit.... my coins.
Now I know this is dumb.
I musta had Puritans in my lineage.

I always sell coins that I don't like, eventually, but would never sell one that I did like just because I added a new one. Now THAT would be cray! lol

We are all but caretakers. Why not?
It is good to sell once in a while. Keeps your finger on the pulse of the market and creates contacts

I try to limit myself to one each of my Type coins. When an upgrade comes along, the "other" needs to go.

I have never had that feeling.... I guess I am too much of a 'pack rat'...'It's mine and I am keeping it.'

I do flip stuff every so often ... but for the most part, I keep what I find.
Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]
I only sell dups or NON-Dimes to raise money to buy an expensive Dime that comes along.
This is an excellent point and something I need to remind myself from time to time. There's no better way to connect with other like minded collectors who may be willing to sell you their duplicates than by selling them a few of your own duplicates first.

All the time. Of course, this doesn't mean I always do the "right" thing.

I do sell lower graded dups a lot, as I see no reason to keep them around, unless they are really choice or in a rare holder, etc.

I do feel that way a lot even though I am well past needing to. My problem is I have a limit of comfortably keeping x amount of collectibles in my house. I hate to keep them locked up at the bank. I just bought my 3rd Winchester safe and I plan to bolt them all together and then to the foundation and walls. They are all 48 x 72 and weigh around 800 empty. It will require work to steal them.. even with the cameras, motion detectors, door and windows wired, driveway monitors I still have concerns

I try never to buy anything I dislike so that makes selling a duplicates hard once upgraded.
I do sometimes wonder if I poured single every cent as a collector just into gold bullion how many onces would I own?
I have a lot of coins that I'd like to sell. Had planned to box 'em up and ship 'em to Russ to sell for me, but waited too long.

I "experimented" with the sell word only 2-times. I am not a coin dealer but have a coin sickness. The 2009 Heritage Fun action was the first and again in Oct of 2010 to take some "stuff" off the table. Hindsight as always is great and I might should have sold the bank when prices were high a bit later. A very long time collector I have grown to be like the leprechaun. Now I'm an "angry leprechaun." That's ok, I deserve to be "angry." As it turns out, I was a slight bit early in selling the rising prices but without question learned my lesson on auction selling with Heritage. Never again! Got cleaned with Heritage on PCGS Colonials, early Commemoratives, Morgan 1878 varieties and a few Morgan semi-keys. Now is a terrible time for selling but I'm betting good times might ahead for those who made wise choices.
Selling stuff is almost as much fun as buying stuff.
Maybe more fun!
