To me, these are the ultimate coin show reports. They could just as easily be called "A week in the life of a coin dealer." When we walk up to a dealer's table and glance, we really don't appreciate what it took for that person to get there. Major investments in time and money, cross country travel, leaving business at home, A dealer would need to clear several thousand dollars in profits just to breakeven at a show,
My investment in seeing hundreds of dealers in one spot is the cost of gas and parking. I am exhausted after walking the floor for a day; I can only imagine how tiring it is for dealers after a week. Pack up and there's another show in a week or two.
The pictures help illustrate that selling the coins may be the easiest part of the job. I can see nice coins anywhere; I want to know how was the show, who did you meet, what exhibits interested you the most, what took place at the meetings and yes, where are the good restaurants. Charmy is kind enough to share her total coin show experience and I thank her for that.

The Philadelphia Mint: making coins since 1792. We make money by making money. Now in our 225th year thanks to no competition.
I'm a long tie lurker here and infrequent poster. But after watching this post go in an unexpected direction,
I have to add my two cents.
I've have read and enjoyed Charmy's reports throughout the years.
Her reports offer a personal and fun perspective on the many shows that I could not attend in person.
I hope she will ignore the detractor and continue to share her show reports in her way.
We have even met a few times and I have found her friendly despite the hustle and bustle of a bourse floor.
She should not feel obliged to meet some random observer's "standards" - that individual is free to set up his own forum and establish his own terms of service.
Coins will come and go, but found friends along the way are here for the long haul.

There are no problems with her threads, if there was, it would have been addressed long ago.
I've done shows in the past and indeed we all go to restaurants afterwards. I enjoy all of those aspects of her reports. A LOT of us do!
Wow that didn't take long. The gavel has fallen. Bam

Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I always enjoy your threads Charmy as well as seeing your new Conder tokens and exhibits. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with us!

Don't change a thing! Thanks for taking the time and effort to put out a great report. Lot's of us can't make it to these shows, especially when there way across the country.
Ms. Harker has always been a classy lady, and I always enjoy her input. I met her several years ago at the Dallas ANA Money show, and she was and is a sweet person, and very knowledgeable. I'm not at all surprised that Crazy got booted. There is never a need to be rude or pushy like that.

All the nonsense posted by a now "former" Forum member aside , your show reports are one of the PCGS Forum's highlights for me. I don't get to many shows these days but actively read each of your reports and view the pics and I feel as if I was in attendance as well. Also, thanks to your inspiration, a couple of years ago I began an exonumia collection of penny teapots and charms too. Mine is considerably more meager than yours and only number a couple of dozen but I love them! In short, never change a thing to suit your critics. Run your race as you see fit and ignore the noise. Well done Charmy, you are indeed THE PENNY LADY!
Here's my penny's worth (or is it cent's worth?)...
I was reading the posts made by C4C and wondering...
If C4C is indeed a woman and knows there are not many women in the industry that own or co-own numismatic businesses, then why is she trashing another woman on these boards? C4C did not comment on other people's posts about the FUN show that mentioned things other than coins, so it's interesting she focused on Charmy. Maybe she has an issue with other women... If she didn't like the posts, then she shouldn't read them! Hopefully, she will see that PCGS must not have agreed with her since they banned her. I'm glad she's banned but I'm sure she will be back.
For those of you that chimed in supporting Charmy: Thanks for posting your support. It's nice to see that these days!
Charmy: Do not let this person influence you. If you were doing anything wrong, PCGS would certainly let you know.
Thank you so much Charmy for taking the time to post your awesome report once again!!!! I couldn`t make FUN this year and your report is the next best thing....
When I first joined this forum and came across my first "Charmy" post, I found it a little odd someone would be posting photos of their food, wine and socializing after hours. But then I started going to some coins shows, seeing these same people, even walking past Charmy's table and saying "hello." Although I'm not much of a numistmatist, I am a small time collector. I browse this forum daily. It's almost like I'm part of the gang, although I haven't met very many of the folks in the photos. Charmy , thank you for this type of posting you do. I can't attend many conventions unless they are in the Chicago area, so your postings are the next best thing. I find they kind of tell a story with the ending of " there's no place like home." Thank you for letting me get a glimpse into your life. And thank you to all the others that post here as well.
Great report, Charmy. Although I've read your reports regularly with interest, I've rarely commented on them... mainly because because they have always been a model of consistency - about major show activities, the folks involved, as well as all the background & nuances that frame the shows from start to finish. I've grown to expect them, and always appreciated the "life" your reports have given the shows you attended. Don't allow the trifling some petty troll pitches your way... please keep providing the informative inside intel you've always given us.
Well crafted report . . .and a well crafted response to the situation. You are well above any singular attempt to garner attention from any individual. The reports, pix, and interactions you have at all the shows many of us will never attend are invaluable as you know.
I treasured our meeting in Vegas . . . .and the kind attention you gave me. I still value the two coins I bought . . .
