Collect the plastic, not the coin!

This might be the ultimate plastic collectible - all plastic, no coin!
Said to be a prototype rejected by PCGS for obvious reasons! Much prefer the OG boxes.

Soup that color don't go good around here either.
I have never seen that color box!
Very cool, Lakes.
See http://www.doubledimes.com for a free online reference for US twenty-cent pieces
It's an OGB!
When I got it, the side walls were collapsing in.
Filled it with hot water from the insta-hot tap and gradually moved them back to parallel, then splinted it with the slabs. Seems to be holding.
That's the incredibly rare PCGS Green Box, only used for a very short period to return early american coppers suffering from verdigris.
No, but it sounds good.
COOL!

As a Mopar fan, I like it! Matches their sublime green cars.

I like that box....Green is a good color..... wish they still had them, I would buy several.... Cheers, RickO
Cool!
Speaking of boxes, does anyone know what the boxes looked like that Doilys would have been sent in?
My YouTube Channel
that looks to be the same shade of green as the inner slab gasket that sometimes changes, photo-reactive I would guess. maybe this is from the same type of thing.
Was thinking the same thing when I checked in on the thread this morning.
"...and it's good to touch, the green, green slabs, of home!"
A limited-edition "retro green" box would've been nice for the 30th anniversary:
Or how about a "CAC green" box for PCGS beanie slabs?

I like the color myself, it may just fluoresce under a black light, or glow in the dark by itself.

I hope that it isn't a cheap Chinese fake! I like it though.
My daughter would definitely love a pink one. Perhaps someone should suggest color options to Mr. Don Willis.
Nice box
Good thinking in getting it back to working order. Would be neat filled up with OGH's.
I want one!!!!!!!!!!!
Those Doilies will go well in that baby Lakes!!!!
Happy New Year my friend!
Forget the box, I would take the pegmatite countertop of Lakesammman!
It matches our 1 owner VW my wife bought new in 1974!
Pretty close.
Nice Bug!.....I was just a baby....
Never seen that before... I like it. Has that late 60's early 70's influence. Peter Max would be pleased.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Saw this at one of the Long Beach shows a year or two ago when the sides were folded in... glad you got it back into shape!

I once worked with a company that developed a patented method to infuse colored dyes into all sort of plastics (after they are processed into their final shape). The patents have since been sold to another company. It just occurred to me that one could probably change the standard colors of PCGS boxes to all sorts of funky hues by infusing a second dye on top of the original. Should I run off to the lab and make some purple PCGS boxes, or would I be shunned as the forum's first Box Doctor?
