Attention Cherrypicker's!
Since 2016 is just about through, What are your hunting goals in 2017? What coin or coins are you out to track down? My certain Cherry will be the coveted 1888/7 Indian Cent. I know my bar is set pretty high, though the mighty challenge, I thought it would be fun to try and hunt down? I still might seek for the well liked, "Superbird" Quarter as well. What are your endeavors in the coming year ahead? Good Luck and Good Hunting, guy's! Oh, you guy's can search for other coins than the ones that I'm seeking for. LOL -joey

My goal is as always to find any of the Dime varieties I am missing.
I look for all I can remember start at Cents and work my way up. There are a lot of them to look for when hunting and if you don't fine any you are not looking hard enough and I pass on many so the next guy can fine some that is how I roll.
Hoard the keys.
My goals are to add to and complete my IKE set.
The set consist of all clads in all 3 grades MS64/MS65/MS66 only PCGS slabs I have some in plus grades as well the 71d I have in 7 grades. The silvers I have in both 67 and 68. The toners are a year set. This series is dead and fun to be able to add some great coins that are tough at good price levels. The overall set is 85% complete. I intend to complete it this year. The 64's are not so easy though inexpensive one has to find the mistakes people sell off.
I am still adding to my VF30 US type set these are older ANACS or PCGS.
I think I am going to focus on nickels this coming year, Jeffersons in particular. Seems to be quite a few varieties there that fly a bit under the radar.
Really going to try to track down the 1946-D over inverted D, not an easy thing to find in the wild!
I will not narrow my field of search to one denomination or another. "Who knows what tomorrow will bring..."

Soon after I started this thread. I journeyed out to my nearby B and M shop to get a jump on my new year hunt. I searched through approx. 200 Indian Cents, but to no avail. Oh well, I have a long year ahead of me on this quest so I better pack a lotta patience.-joey

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.In 2017, Id just like to get back the URGE to cherrypick. It used to captivate me, from searching bank rolls to picking off eBay. Seems like my lack of enthusiasm strangely coincides with a general downturn in the error/variety niche of the hobby. A great opportunity to pick up some rare doubled dies and RPMs at lower prices, but they just dont excite me anymore.
I kept a few esoterically rare Lincoln cent doubled dies, hoping that they will catch on one day. But by and large, I took a bath trying to sell even the established CPG varieties. Prices just fell off a cliff!

"Coin collecting for outcasts..."
I love to cherrypick. It's how I can afford to add nice coins to my personal collection. Most of my variety cherrypicks are to resell. Most of the under graded cherrypicks are to add to my collection. I won't narrow down my field, instead, it continuously expands.
Any major 1971-S Ike Proof Variety would suit me fine. I'd prefer an FS-801, but would certainly take a type 1 reverse in a Nixon presentation box! Oh and more Gem Type 2s...
Any 1869 CC dollar, VAM1
bob:)
"What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?"
.
haha, got cha!
Of course we know the equipment was working and 1869cc dies had arrived but a coiner had not been approved in time enough to mint an substantial amount so the dies were recalled. They were sent back but knowing Abe Curry (first director of the Cc mint) as I do, I know he struck some just to have fun and try out the press.....got to be a VAM1 out there somewhere!

just like a moron! bid on any fakes lately? :P
if you find a vam 1, make no mistake my friend, i'm gonna be hot on your trail looking for either a 1a or v2 !!
ok i wanna see what the pensive smiley looks like. wow
well that pensive emoji is quiet unsatisfying. >:-|
.
I have not bid on any lately.......but would bid on a 69cc just for laughs.
Happy New Year my friend.
bob:)
you as well.
did u ever see the 81-s $1 fake with the super strong rev clash BER? it is/was a sight to behold.
when i saw the active listing i remember my mouth started watering thinking, "uhhh, if only you were authentic!"
ive had obsessive-compulsive issues about discovering a new "E" clash morgan.
.
I like the clash e's and do look for them but did not see your fako that you mentioned.....ugh I missed it.

I will spend the year trying to cherry pick Liberty Nickel varieties (just like I did this year)
