58 ddo???

Heres the 1958 cent previously mentioned in post "DDOFound" what i have tried to rationilaze is its abrasion showing In IGWT but also there is definate spread to the rest of coin...date...IGWT...LIBERTY...EAR...i see the die gouges/scratches and they seem to run just a bit off set either CCW/CW a degree or two...??..i have othwr photos...but coukdnt get post to handle the memory

    There are over 100 rpms for the 1960 Lincoln cent. Thousands of insignificant die variations over the years in the Lincoln series. There are 3 known examples of the 58 DDO with the large spread at IGWT. This is not one of them.

    As a general rule, if you need close up pictures (and lots of them) you don't have one of the big doubled die coins. You may have a minor variety, of course, but usually more likely to be machine doubling.

    Nice find and discovery though we need a wider spread to call it DDO. ( most of us, anyway )

    I would not categorize that as a DDO.... sorry, the pictures just do not show it. Cheers, RickO
