Morgan Dollar - What caused this...? Doesn't look like PMD

Found this 1889 Morgan a little while back. Trying to determine cause of the 4 raised dots under eagle's head.
I've never seen anything similar and can't come up with an explanation other than strike/die related....

Makes me drool for the turkey later today......lol
Actually it has to be some kind of PMD I believe! Maybe jewelry removal?
Merry Christmas!
or bad alloy mix creating bubbles?..wild guess:)
looks like a different color in general in that area. Maybe, like AUandAG noted, maybe some kind of solder?
The eagle fouled its nest?
Looks like a planchet defect to me.
Looks like glue on the coin with bubbles.
Dip the coin in acetone. Most likely whatever is on there will be gone.
Glue.....acetone will remove it.
Well, can't seem to find the coin now. Was going to take some good close-ups. Once I find it, I'll add the images.

Acetone will remove the glue, unless it is water-based glue, in which case, use water
Yup. Glue or tape residue. Notice there is some around the eagles right leg too. As well as that dark pattern up top. That's where there was no glue or tape and the coin toned and the metal aged at a different rate.
Interesting... could be glue... or could be solder residue... let us know after acetone treatment... Cheers, RickO
