Rodgers is the man. And Crosby, what else can you say about a guy who nails 3 straight 50+ yard field goals when the game is on the line.

Terrific game played by both teams, offensively, at least. Defensively, not so much.

I was actually talking about the spike. It cost them a down and left time on the clock.

Agree 100%. Why spike with a TO in your pocket? You needed that down.

a great game. Sorry for Dimeman but not Jerry Jones. I thought Prescott made a few mistakes but overall played pretty well.
I will be rooting for Falcons next week but anyone on here who said Aaron Rodgers is not a big time playoff quarterback, well I hope they were watching.

I hardly root for the Cowboys, but if anybody thinks Prescott lost them that game they are way off base & are just looking to blame someone.

I wanted the Cowboys to win mainly because, ok only because Zeke plays there. Great game. I kinda knew it would not go well when I saw Romo holding the clipboard in the wrong hand.

I'm not blaming Dak, but he did cost us 3 and probably 7 points on that STUPID throw. Zeke had just run the ball down their throat.....2 yards to go.....DUH......RUN ZEKE!!!!!!!

The game was lost when we allowed 21 unanswered points to go down 21-3. I will be for Atlanta now also......not because of this game, but because they have never won a SB.

    My sympathies to you Dimeman.

The Boys should be very good next year. Rodgers is a very good QB.

I suspect there will be many who want to see Brady v. Rodgers in the Superbowl.

It would be nostalgis if SB 51 featured the Packers and tje Chiefs. A repeat of SB 1.

That throw and catch that set up the winning FG was unbelievable! We had him on the run and he still makes a pass like that.

Glad to see you say this. That loss was very much a team effort. If you come out lethargic and spot an 18-point lead to Aaron Rodgers, you're asking for your season to end abruptly.

Yes that was a bad pass and execution but Scott Linehan calls the plays. I don't think Dak checked out of the play.

    From NFL.com

The Cowboys struggled with unforced errors all day, but this one was by far the most costly. After an 11-yard reception by Jason Witten, the Cowboys had first and 10 from the Green Bay 40 with 1:07 to play and a timeout in their pocket. Dak Prescott chose to spike the football however, killing the clock, stripping Dallas of a down to operate with, and ultimately, giving Aaron Rodgers and the Packers just enough time in the game's final possession.

Regardless loss was on the team but this mistake stuck out like a sore thumb.

Read the section from NFL.com which echoes what I wrote earlier. It's pretty self explanatory. That decision by DP was the most glaring mistake of many made by the Cowboys at it was at the end of the game. There is plenty of blame to go around. Couple that with Green Bay just making more plays then the Cowboys.

Overall I though Prescott played great . I have no problem owning what I write.

Steel, are you saying that spike did not hurt them? It most certainly did.

That is not the reason they lost, no, but it certainly did hurt their chances at winning the game. Losing that down a) reduced their chances at extending that last drive to either score a gamewinning TD or b) leaving less time on the clock (or no time) for Rodgers after kicking the gametying FG.

Neither D played well. This game was a classic example of the team with the last possession going to win the game.

I think Mark stated it rather clearly and correctly.

I would give the loss to whoever called that pass play with 2 yards to go....because at that time the game was winnable and Zeke was running wild. Really bad call!

As amazing as that throw & catch were, to me, the even better play was before that. When the Cowboys sacked Rodgers and he somehow didn't fumble, that was just...incredible. He got trucked from the blindside and somehow didn't lose the ball. And then popped right up for a timeout. Amazing play.

Dallas is in excellent shape moving forward. Once they uncap Romo's millions and reel in a 3rd or 4th round pick for him, they can begin to address that uninspiring defense. Add a legit edge rusher and cover corner, and that team will start traversing into scary good territory. I also think they need to draft and groom a TE that can stretch the field......one that will supplant an aging Witten sooner rather than later.

And yessir, that was the play of the game ^.

I didn't remember seeing David Erving make a play all night or even a mention of his name. He can dominate at times. Zip on Sunday

The trick with Romo is he has a 24.9 million dollar cap hit necktie year. Gulp.

14 mil of that is his base (which would be traded away), but the Cowboys are going to have to eat the prorated bonus of 10.7. The 2018 & 2019 prorated bonus amounts also stay with them, and that's an additional 8.9. So he basically has 19.6 mil remaining of unamortized signing bonus that goes nowhere outside of Dallas.

Not if but when he is traded, that entire amount hits the 2017 ledger, meaning DC will save 5.1 on next year's cap. (24.7-19.6)

But the flexibility really kicks in the following two years, when the Cowboys free up 25.2 mil in '18 and 23.7 in '19.

Sorry to geek it up with numbers......I'm a financial type who can't help himself. There will be a pop quiz later, D-man! B)

I questioned Dak's ability to throw effectively downfield at times during the regular season thinking he was more of a mistake free game manager but he was able to make some great throws, ofcourse it was against a suspect Green Bay backfield but I thought he proved himself capable of leading his team back in a must throw situation, Dallas will be fine going forward if they can get some better defensive backs and a good pass rusher. I did notice that Dak tried Terrence Williams a few too many times I thought, the guy is a no show during the regular season and I wasn't sure why Dak thought that would change in this game.

    Two things here:

First - The whole salary Cap is a bunch of BS! You should be able to spend whatever you want as an owner.

Second - Jerry was STUPID STUPID STUPID to sign Romo back then for that money. I said it then and I say it now!!!!!

I thought it was funny when the officiating expert declared that the crews would be judged on their performance and that the crew going to the Super bowl would be from the Chiefs-Steelers game.
Even though that game wasn't played until the next night.LOL. Meaning the refs in Dallas sucked.
That was a really good insult.
Then Joe Buck said they would get back to him later on that and I don't remember that they ever did.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs still haven't been back to the Super Bowl since I was a little kid.
Pretty doubtful they would have beat the Pats anyway.
