@EXOJUNKIE ...I like the 'Phoenix' eagle on the obverse of that token....and it is serendipitous that the heat in hot peppers is measured in Scoville units... Cheers, RickO

If you glance at the reverse of the 1952 copy you'll see a "R" in the center over the "&" to specify it's a replica.
Unfortunately I've seen the replica go for over a hundred or even hundreds of dollars on eBay being bid up and won by novice collectors thinking the crude copy is the real deal.
Below is the non replica original 1837 issue...
1837 J.M.L. & W.H. Scovill Manufacturing, Connecticut, HT-105, R-3
A tougher token from the manufacturer that struck more then 25% of all Hard Times tokens, along with the 1847 Hawaii Cents and the 1860's New Haven Fugio Restrikes. They are still in business today and make most all buttons and clasps for jeans and infant clothing.
Allow me ricko...the Ruggles use to belong to Broadstruck then he sold it to me and then I sold it back to him.
Hope this helps
@LotsoLuck ...Thanks...but I was referring to the historical capsule he usually includes.... Cheers, RickO
