Dansco Question

Since some of the older and foreign albums are out of print, I have been trying to make my own albums. Unfortunately, even some of the replacement pages are difficult to find. Since I'm trying to squeeze coins in slots, how well do think a coin would fit if it was 1mm too large for the particular slot? Would I make a mess of it if I had to alter the slot slightly? Anyone had this problem? In case you are wondering, I have a 32mm coins and have a 31mm page.

1 mm will not be a pleasant experience for you if you are OCD. The coins will spin and never be oriented correctly.
They could get circular scratches from spinning in such an environment (my fear, not an experience that I've seen).
Dansco holes can easily be "shimmed" with a trim off of an acetate slide.
Just trim to depth of hole and work in and around the coin and it will stay right side up.
LOL The above to reversed your scenario. I tried enlarging the holes in a Lincoln Cent album years ago so I could put the coins in in cointains. Was not a pleasant experience!
I would say you better get some junk albums to experiment with... looks like a risky operation... may end up ruining a good album. Cheers, RickO
Shimming is SO easy. Just trim off a slide end to the right size and you can "work it around" the coin like threading spool. Just don't try to get it SO tight that it pops out the end you started with.
They don't need MUCH shimming usually.
