Nice and shiny, so it MUST be silver

For fun, and to do some album filling, I bought a $100 bag of silver quarters from a major online dealer (through ebay, with ebay bucks coming to me).

After they sat on the order for "a few" days, I contacted them and 2 days later, they shipped them out to me. Arrived today, and tonight I opened them up to put them into quarter roll holders. Counting them out into groups of $10.

A lot of 1964s that are either AU or BU (I haven't looked other than counting and seeing a few dates), which I expected, and one of them jumped out at me.

  1. Nice and shiny and all. I guess, as it hit the counter, because it was so nice and shiny, it was thought to be silver.

Oh well. I also ended up with 2 no-date SLQs. Not quite slicks, but not a lot to them either.

I figured any that don't go into hole fillers in the dansco will just be put aside as a silver stack.....or pull some out as presents to some of the YNs I know.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I've known people that have ended up with a better mix than that - oh well.

I met a guy one time who made a complete set of silver Washington's over 5 years by buying 90 percent from other dealers. Don't get me wrong the 32 d and s were rough but hey he got them for silver. Always thought that was pretty cool!he always said every coin he had was for sale except that dansco. He was so proud that he did that he said he would be buried with it
