Do the TPG's video tape the grading process...

from receiving, grading, and packing up for shipping? This to verify coins were handled properly on their end. I'd think it would protect them from any claims of mishandling etc.

I thought that I read/heard somewhere that the entire process is "recorded" from when they (PCGS) receive the package until it is sent back to the customer.

I recall that receiving and shipping coins was recorded.
I do not recall that coins actually being graded are recorded. As for a record of which grader graded each coin? Yeah, I believe they do....obviously, they don't go external with that info.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

There are cameras all over the areas at the TPGS's handle coins. I cannot say how long the tapes are kept. As for the graders, the records are kept in the computer with the names and grades.

Very interesting video... as for standard, daily process... I am sure they have certain measures in place for security, as most places do that handle high value items such as gold, silver and historic coins. Obviously, their measures are - and should be - confidential. Cheers, RickO

I don't know if or what cameras PCGS or across the street have, but they have some thing.
I sent PCGS some coins, and they arrived in a damaged. PCGS was great to work with and they did email the photos of the package and contents. The USPS damaged the package and some coins suffered, but true to form the postal service did nothing.
Security should never be talked about in any form!!!!!
