Here's another eBay coin scam that I haven't seen before

"SEALED ALCATRAZ PRISON PROPERTY BAG WITH 40 SLABBED OLD BU & CIRC. COINS"
Yeah... I'm sure this is a "genuine" Alcatraz prison property bag. Although the seller never claims it to be genuine, it obviously (by my eyes) isn't. Hmmmmm.....Alcatraz closed in 1963, yet the bag is filled slabbed coins. And 30 fools paid $73 each for these.

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.

Don't want to waste a good bag heck grocery bags in California will set

Steve
30!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because when felons are checked in to maximum security prisons, they routinely have a few boxes of slabbed coins on them.

This is just unbelievable... I guess P.T. Barnum was right.... Cheers, RickO
A dime, not a quarter.
All I can say to myself is WOW.
Successful transactions with : MICHAELDIXON, Manorcourtman, Bochiman, bolivarshagnasty, AUandAG, onlyroosies, chumley, Weiss, jdimmick, BAJJERFAN, gene1978, TJM965, Smittys, GRANDAM, JTHawaii, mainejoe, softparade, derryb
Bad transactions with : nobody to date
Well I always them have triple bag my stuff
Steve
Which is sooooo Awesome. This one move will help to eliminate so much plastic trash, what a great cutting edge state!!!!!
don't like such listings, but in all fairness seller describes it as "new" and never claims the bags were actually from the Alcatraz era. Also offers full refund to the fools.
Economic headlines the mainstream media are hiding from you.

how bad of a scam can it be? you get 40 pennies and nickels in protective plastic for under $2 apiece.
All of that sellers listing are "interesting" and alot are grab bag type listings. This company has multiple ebay accounts all doing the same thing

Actually they're a dime now. And it's not even a tax. The money goes to the stores. What a crock. Its hilarious watching people with full carts not bagging anything out of principal though. On the up side the bags are larger and much more sturdy
a good marketing ploy for sure. im not sure if ive seen the grading company before though? hmmm
Amazing what some folks will spend their money on. WOW
The guy was probably doing time for violating time-travel laws since slabs weren't around in 1963
laughable
I'm going to try selling cheap coins in Alka-seltzer bags.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Did they even have color printers back then?
222,000 feedbacks. Wow! Still, at 99.6% that probably puts them in the bottom 10% of all sellers.
The bags look like they were made yesterday....lol. Great idea to put essentially junk coins into a 4th tier sealed plastic slabs. Could be 30 shill transactions so far....waiting for the first real one. Could they really have 178,000 customers for that stuff. My local coin shop is lucky to have 178 customers looking for the same stuff.
You guys are all missing the point that the seller never stated when the bags were sealed. (Unless I missed that point!) Even if the bags were sealed yesterday--which does seem likely--nonetheless, they are "sealed bags."
I see where the seller also has "Sealed Washington Bank Safe Property Bags" and "Sealed Wild Jack's Casino Bags" and "Sealed Mutual of Omaha Bags" and even "Sealed US Navy Recruits Property Bags" for sale. Surprisingly (or not), they all look exceedingly like the "Sealed Alcatraz" bags. One really must wonder about the IQ of some eBay buyers...
For those of you who don't have one yet, here's a wheatie roll with a Merc dime on the end. For $11.45 which includes shipping, you can get a group of coins with a wholesale value of no more than $2.50-2.75. Hurry before they sell out. Great stocking stuffers.

There are a lot of seals living in the waters near Alcatraz, along with some sharks.
But I guess that "sharked" bags are not as popular as "sealed" bags.

And he has sold 485 of these

Possibly. All we know for sure is that they have sold/shilled up to 485 of them.
Don't let me stop anyone here from being #486. It's like HSN where the "tabulator" just keeps lurching forward.
Ha! Ha! Ha! What will they think of next? Anyone who falls for this deserves what they get.
Wasn't Burt the birdman of Alcatra?n
Hurry before they're gone!
Unfortunately some new coin collectors who don't do there homework see slabbed coins in a property bag and it sounds so good they just have to bid and they never do there home work. It's sad for sure.
HAPPY COLLECTING
I have seen lots like this being sold on auctionzip. Maybe it's the same company or maybe they buy from AZ or have the same source?
