I guess I'm not surprised by how the gold reacted, but a little surprised by the reaction heard off-screen. Likewise, it is simply worth bullion and can be used again.
Pretty cool to watch. Guys with their toys. Kind of reminds me of an old engine blow up contest shops in my area used to run where they'd drain the oil out of a bunch of different engines and run them full throttle to see which would blow first. Good times. At least the gold bar wasn't worthless when he's done.
A dealer I worked for once had me haul an 80-pound silver bar to a machine shop to saw it in half so he could ship it (USPS has a 70-lb max weight). The metal shop guys who put it up on a big band saw were kind of interested to see it used on a giant silver ingot. I let 'em keep the shavings, of course. I forget how much metal was lost in the sawing, but it was a fairly negligible amount.
The old forums wouldn't have let you post the title "Crushit", because of those last four letters. LOL.

Haha, just watched that earlier today. I've never handled any Baird gold bars, but I do sell quite a bit of their platinum.

For some reason I was expecting a little more....something. I dunno, neat but maybe I was expecting it to spread out more than compact.
Interesting, but nothing unexpected.... Cheers, RickO
