Cool numismatic gift from the Grapevine, TX show
My buddy Harry likes to ride along sometimes when I work at coin shows. Yesterday, we attended the Texas Coin Show in Grapevine, TX. While I was working, Harry was on the floor shopping. He came by the table at one point and said he had something cool to show me. He had purchased a group of checks from B. Max Mehl. Some were noted below the signature as being signed by his secretary, but 2 of them weren't. I asked him if I could buy one from him, and he told me I could have one. Here's the one he gave me- I also have a registered mail envelope from his shop and am thinking about framing the two of them together, though on the way back to Austin we discussed trying to find one of his ads for the 1913 Liberty Nickel to include in the display as well... I think it will be fun trying to find one of those.

A great piece of numismatic history.
A nice item from a very well-known numismatist/dealer.
How big is the Grapevine Show? Dealerwise.

The Grapevine show is a pretty nice local show and they have it every few months. I go to it a few times a year as it is inside my standard operating radius and although, yes it is pretty much the same dealers and coins, there is quite a variety and heck, I am out looking at coins!

that's pretty cool
Next time you go, stop by the ANACS table in the lobby and say hello!
