Morgan experts:
does this 1889-cc pcgs xf45 look xf45 to you?
It looks like an AU53 to me. In fact, it so obviously looks better than 45, that I'm wondering if the holder is bogus. I have some doubts about the holder, but if it is fake, the coin is an extremely good fake.
AU53 minus 8 points for cleaning = XF45
;-)
Looks ok to me

I think that it is a legit coin in an authentic holder. Looks under graded to me unless they net graded it because of a light cleaning that you really can't see because of the pics.
you think they used coin sand paper?
(just kidding coins and paper!)
ok, maybe 45 might be appropriate, but 45 seemed low at first blush. low au? perhaps if I saw it in hand.
fwiw, the label looks real.
Looks like an old baking soda job, hence the net grade. Those surfaces aren't "nice." I like that there is a reed mark on the face.
I agree with the XF45 grade.... not sure about cleaning...in this case just because it is hard to determine from a photo...and a photo through a slab at that.... Cheers, RickO
Did something chew on the eagle's left wing...or is that an artifact from excessive sharpening and contrast?
Does look legit to my eyes. Vam 2?

Looks good to me, although the yellow tint of the photos make it difficult to ascertain the surface condition (which is difficult from photos anyway). It certainly has the details of an AU50 or 53 and seems to have plenty enough luster to merit an AU grade.

Looks net-graded to me due to over-dipping.

Looks ok to me too.

45 and 53 are two grades that are very close to each other, much as 58 and 63 are. It could be a net-graded coin due to market acceptable cleaning or it could be just a little too much wear for AU that day. There are other coins I've seen graded 45 that have absolutely no claim to AU, but may be extremely wholesome. In practice, I'd say there's a lot more latitude in quality for XF45 than for most other grades. This presents opportunities, good and bad.
Edit: and the coin looks fine, too.
